OK, so yesterday I thought I was on the ball. Yup, we were busy with my son for an end of year activity (he’s an Air Cadet) and didn’t have a ton of time, but I went shopping and got everything I needed for this weeks salads. I had this. Or, so I thought.

Lots happening, all in one post
So this is not a regular post, I’m going to report on my last weigh in (from Thursday), plus update you with two new salads and (drum-roll), a new mason jar video.
Week 10 It’s a habit now
Repost: March 15, 2016
Have you heard the saying “Do something for 21 days ….” And it becomes a habit. After 10 weeks of Salad prep I am proud to say that making them has become a habit I love. I even tried to think up a new recipe this week, Veggie Goat Cheese and Chicken, you will see it pictured below.
Week 9 Sticking to my promise
Repost: March 8, 2016
As you can see, I’ve changed the title, mostly because I think posting blogs about just Mason Jar Salads will get a bit boring. But don’t worry, I’m still going to post the pictures and recipes, however I will try to find a fitting title each week.
Week 8 Mason Jar Salads
Repost: February 29, 2016
Week 8 started off kilter. Normally I reserve Sundays for meal prep and while I knew in advance that most of my day was going to be spent at a Women’s Rock Your Biz function, I was stumped come prep time. Luckily I had gone to the big box store on Saturday, so that left just a quick “outside” aisle shopping trip to the local grocery store. I say “outside”, because every time I can do the outside aisle of the grocery store, I do an a little inner fist pump.
Week 7 Mason Jar Salads
Repost: February 22, 2016
Week 7 is here and I can hardly believe it. While my oldest son and I made the salads, I mentioned that this is the 7th week of mason jar salads we’ve created. He was just as surprise as I was. Time has really flown by. I can honestly say that I have never, in my entire life eaten as much salad (vegetables) as I have during this part of my plan. *patting myself on the back*
No fork, no problem
Repost: February 17, 2016
Just a quick check-in, it seems that I forgot my fork when packing my lunch today and only figured that out when I sat down to eat. I could have walked to the cafeteria to pick up a plastic fork, but I was working on a task and really didn’t have the time, so I improvised. It seems that you can eat a salad with a spoon. Week 6 Mason Jar Salads
Repost: February 16, 2016
Week 6 is here and this week I let my boys each choose a favourite salad, with some slight modifications. This is an odd week, as you can see I’m posting this on Monday and not Sunday. Not because I forgot to post, but because we just got home from being away for the long weekend (Family Day). So, no shopping trip to Costco, but I did manage with the local grocery stores, which were open until 6pm today. I feel really good about today! Continue reading “Week 6 Mason Jar Salads”
Week 5 Mason Jar Salads
Repost: February 8, 2016
Week 5 is here and so are two new salads (we kept the Asian one with a bit of a twist). My family is looking forward to the Chicken Caesar with Kale. I’m up late today because it seems that my “plan” needs some tweaking. For the last month, I wake up Sunday morning, play Xbox (Elder Scrolls Online, ESO) with my husband and together we prepare lunch. At about 2ish, I start thinking of food preparation. This includes meal planning (dinners, breakfasts-on-the-go, mason jar salads and more), shopping (several stores) and finally, actual food preparation. Continue reading “Week 5 Mason Jar Salads”
Not just mason jar salads
Repost: February 1, 2016
I do love the convenience and the of course, the deliciousness of the mason jar salads. But my journey to eating better doesn’t stop there. A friend of mine at work, an inspiration to physical fitness, asked me what I had had for breakfast one day. Well, on that particular day, I had forgotten my oatmeal on the counter at home, so other than a tea, no breakfast. She looked at me in complete shock. What? No breakfast? Plus, the one you were going to eat had no protein. You can’t do that. She then cut our meeting short and suggested (strongly) that I go get something to eat. So I did. But in doing so, I realized the options at our cafeteria held little to no interest, and next to no healthy options. Continue reading “Not just mason jar salads”
Week 4 Mason Jar Salads

Week 4 is here and so are two new salads (and one from last week). My family really loved the Chicken Fajita salad. So good.

Week 2 Mason Jar Salads
Repost: January 22, 2016
Thought I’d share the document I created last week for Katie and I to make our salads.
I’m a list type person and I found that having this document made it really easy to know what was going in the jar next. Continue reading “Week 2 Mason Jar Salads”
Week 1 Mason Jar Salads
Repost: January 21, 2016
There would be a picture of all three but the boys ate all the Asian Sesame (or so they thought, see below) Continue reading “Week 1 Mason Jar Salads”
