Trying a new kettlebell workout

I love Friday.  Who doesn’t?  Well maybe people that work the weekend shift.  Maybe they don’t love Fridays, but I start getting that light headed, giddy feeling right about now.  It’s especially awesome since it’s an extended weekend and we’re going to visit my in-laws.

So, what did you all have for lunch today?  It is Friday after all.  You know, eat-out day.  That one work-day, although others do this every day (ahem), that you can eat out.  I’m not against this by any means.  In the almost year that I’ve worked in my new role, I’ve got out less than 10 times.  Why you ask?  Well have a look at the below picture.  This is why.

Caesar Salad Friday

It’ is Caesar Salad Friday!  Well, it’s always [insert name] Salad [insert weekday] for me.  While convenient, healthy and delicious, it’s not always easy to say no to the temptation of eating out.  Not just because of the food, but because of the social aspect i.e. going out with co-workers for lunch.  You miss out on that aspect of interaction.  However, I can usually find someone in the lunchroom and often join them.  I’m almost always asked about my Mason Jar lunch.  Which, of course, I’m happy to oblige.

Guess what I did yesterday morning?  Kettlebell workout for beginners.  This is the video I followed:

Man was I sore this morning!  I couldn’t believe how sore I was today.  After the workout, I felt energized.  I felt fantastic.  So much so that on my way home I stopped in at Hot Yoga Georgina and met Laura.  She explained how the studio works and suggested classes for me.  I signed up for a beginner month.  [insert deep sigh]  I’ve only wanted to do this for oh, like, 10 years.  Back to the Kettlebells.  This morning, I went to “jump” out of bed.  I’m not the kind of person that eases out.  I swing my legs over and up I go.  As I attempted my morning routine, my thighs rebelled.  I likened the feeling similar to having had a blunt object banged up against my legs.  Repeatedly.  Not that I have ever experienced this type of pain, but if I had to guess, it’s what I felt like today.  Did you know that you use your thigh muscles to sit down and stand up?  Sure do.  I’ve felt it all day!    Can’t wait to do the Kettlebell exercise again!  Seriously, I can’t wait.

I may have to use my gift certificate for Timeless Harmony Salon and Spa earlier than expected.  A massage would feel great right about now.

Have an amazing long weekend.
